Abstract

Results of a study into variations in motor car speeds caused by the marks painted on country roads for use by aerial patrol for the detection of speeders are described. Car speeds fell significantly at the aerial patrol marks. The percentage of cars exceeding the speed limit at the marks dropped to one third of the percentage before the marks.
