Abstract

The authors conducted a study of the use of wave absorbers to adjust electromagnetic environments in electronic toll collection (ETC) lanes. Road pavements provided with wave absorption capabilities through the use of carbon fibers and electromagnetic wave absorbers attached to tool gate were able to reduce the power distribution in the lane to standard values or below. It was also confirmed that performance did not decline significantly in rainy weather, confirming the practical applicability of these methods.
