Abstract

Sixteen subjects performed under three different nightly sleep rations for four days. In the vigilance and addition tests a cumulative effect of restriction to 4 hours was observed and there was some evidence that small effects were to be found with 6 hours sleep. Use is made of het founded facts to offer a tentative description of some factors underling performance breakdown with sleep deprivation.
