Abstract

This report describes the results of an exploratory study into the effectiveness of increased intensity of traffic law enforcement as a means of reducing accidents. A trebling of the enforcement level did not lead to a significant reduction in the number of reported accidents. The effective reduction was 2%. Recommendations for further research are presented.
