Abstract

Since the next generation mobile telecommunication systems are expected to come into widespread use from 2003, JSK has decided to undertake a study of Information Architecture (IA) to make the business of providing onboard systems with information a convenient and efficient one. JSK defined IA as an information-oriented architecture detailed from the viewpoint of an information provision service business based on the onboard system architecture (onboard SA) developed in 1998, which is composed of detailed individual physical models, an individual information list, and business information flow models. As for the IA building procedure, JSK detailed the flow of information between the Centre and the in-vehicle units based on the onboard SA and then prepared a flow of information among the information source, service provider, and users based on business patterns. Lastly, JSK paid attention to the public interests of information based on these results and studied the future course of standardisation.
