Abstract

This report describes the study of a particular set of road communication standards defined as "management of specially permitted commercial vehicle (hereinafter referred to as SPCV)" in the ITS user services of Japan. The subject of the study includes the expected future services offered in the "SPCV management", modeling system setup and the road communication standards applicable to the modeling system. The outcome of this study successfully proves the definitions of Data Dictionary 182 and Message Set 36 as road communication standards applicable to SPCV management. During the course of study of the operation management system using the object 'SPCV', the system interfaces with VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) and in-car navigation system are clearly identified.
