Abstract

Admixture of ground glass, in an amount of 10% to 30%, to asphaltic wearing courses of road pavements made with limestone or dolomitic aggregate, permitted considerable improvement of their wet skid resistance. In addition, this admixture partially counteracted the effect of surface wear, which had reduced the original resistance to a dangerous low level.
