Abstract

A maritime transportation has an advantage of transportation ability on cheaper and larger amounts of goods and moreover ecological benefits. Nevertheless low cost and efficient logistics is required and an art technology that contributes high efficiency logistics is needed, the transportation method is considerably influenced by weather conditions such as waves and winds. In order to use the benefit of maritime transportation effectively, it is necessary to operate its management on schedule and to keep safety especially in ports and harbors. In this paper, a safety and operation management of maritime transportation in ports and harbors considering weather conditions which improves an existing prediction system of wave conditions and movements of moored ships in harbor is proposed.
