Abstract

The Victorian Study of Single Vehicle Rural Accidents was carried out between June 1987 and January 1989. Part of the study involved the comparison of accident- involved and non accident- involved drivers. Questionnaires were sent to 2225 drivers observed passing accident sites. The results showed that drivers under 25 were over- represented in accidents as were those undertaking very long trips. There was no effect of sex or place of residence.
