Abstract

This paper describes a strategy for reactive torque control on the steering wheel for the Steer by Wire System, which has no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and steering gear. In this system of front tire angle control, which corresponds to steering maneuvering, the reactive torque helps to decrease the system response delay mainly caused by the steering actuator. Along with the direct yaw moment control system of steering wheel maneuvering for the Steer by Wire system, other control strategies on the steering wheel are proposed. The effectiveness and importance of each control torque were confirmed by computer simulation. (A*)
