Abstract
A series of statie component and dynamic systems testsveere conducted on a number of production steering assem-blees. Based on the results of these tests the protectivecapability, afforded for the unrestrained driver, foreach steering assembly was evaluated and rßted againstthe other production steering assemblees. The Hybrid IIIdummy was used in the dynamic tests and chest deflectionwas one of the response criteria used to assess perform-ance.
