Abstract

Four study techniques, found to be quite useful in planning the peak period freeway surveillanoe and control activities on the Gulf Freeway in Houston, are presentedl a) entrance ramp origin-destination studies, b) input-output studies of closed freeway subsystems, c) aerial photography, and d) input-output studies of critical intersections in the study area.
