A study of wheel stud and wheel nut failure and notes on effective brake maintenance.

Abstract

Attention is drawn of commercial vehicle operators to wheel stud and wheel nut failure. Factors contributing to such failures are indicated. Such failure problems are said to have been brought about by higher vehicle speeds and weights as well as increased cornering abilities. Factors contributing to this failures are briefly detailed.
