Abstract

The goal of the Naval Biodynamics Laboratory in the USA is to establish human tolerance limits for mechanical forces (motion, vibration and impact) and to develop enhanced methods to protect personnel from their deleterious effects. Current experiments are designed to define the kinematic responses of the pelvis, first thoracic vertebrae body and head and neck to acceleration exposures.
