Abstract

The objectives of the study were 1) to determine the principal causes of motorcycle accidents, 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of safety equipment, clothing and rider protective devices in reducing injury, 3) to identify any motorcycle features that contribute to the injuries received by motorcyclists and 4) to identify countermeasures which could reduce the frequency of occurrence and severity of accidents.
