Abstract

In Sweden, the time is changed one hour during the summer. The aim of this report is to study the effect of this summer time on traffic accidents. The study compares accident rates and traffic distributions for 1980 and 1979 ( the year before the introduction of the summer time). Results show a reduction in traffic accidents, especially those where game are involved. The model used when estimating the effects of the summer time is described.
