Abstract

The goal of SUPREME (SUmmary and Publication of Best Practices in Road Safety in the EU-MEmber States plus Switzerland and Norway) was to collect, analyse, summarise and publish best practices in road safety in the Member States of the European Union, as well as in Switzerland and Norway. The care after an accident usually consists of the following measures: - First Aid; - Emergency Call; - Efficient response of emergency systems; - Security and safeguarding of accident sites; - Transportation and medical treatment to enable a transport of the victims; - Further medical treatment and Psychological Support. The aim of the project was to identify best practice examples for the listed categories of measures to find new and innovative ways to improve and optimize the emergency system in Europe.
