Abstract

A total of 392 motorcyclists in the Perth Metropolitan area were interviewed for the purpose of ascertaining whether they held an appropriate driver's licence. The checks revealed that 12% of the riders were violating the licence laws. Overall it was found that 21% of the motorcyclists were violating one or more traffic laws or regulations. The report discusses the implications of the results for future enforcement activity related to driver licensing laws.
