Abstract

A sample of 3605 vehicles towing travel and camper trailers was surveyed for loading patterns, load capacities, and consumer knowledge in these areas. Vehicles were surveyed in their operating condition. Conclusions were: tow vehicle owners do not have available information on capacity of front and rear suspensions of their vehicles, and the importance and method of keeping within these capacities:and tire inflation data furnished in owners manuals is not well understood.
