A survey of the utilization of safety restraints in motor vehicles by children in the Brisbane area.

Abstract

It is concluded that the majority of children travelling in motor vehicles are unrestrained. A higher percentage are secured in the front seat than in the back seat. Predominant injury in the 0- 9 months age was a fractured skull. Chest and abdominal injuries and bruising dominated in the 9- 13 years group.
