Abstract

This manual is the result of a World Bank funded project part of the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management programme 'Partners for Roads'. The training sessions held in cooperation with regional road directorates in Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Letvia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. The project is organised in joint cooperation between the Dutch Ministry and DHV Environment and Transportation. The aim of the training programme for the local experts is the development of safe road design and the transfer of knowledge about safe road design in Central and Eastern Europe. This manual, a guide to sustainable road design is one of the results of the programme, it will develop during the course of the training programme. (Author/publisher)
