Abstract
In this paper the likeliness to achieve some of the objectives of "Het Structuurschema Verkeer en Vervoer (SVV- II)" is being examined. Although the formulation of these objectives is not very daring, the spectacular growth of car traffic over the last years is likely to catch up these objectives in due time. Unfortunately SVV- II does not offer any short term possibilities to restrict car traffic growth. Therefore it is suggested to encompass some additional policy measures in SVV- II.
