Abstract

Throughout Sydney's metropolitan area are a considerable number of transport corridor reservations that have for many years laid waiting for decisions to build transport infrastructures. By the late seventies the significant decline in road funding and a general mood in some quarters against freeways further reduced the likelihood of construction activities. This led to the questioning of the value of retaining the corridor spaces indefinitely.
