Abstract

The 5 sessions of this symposium on lorries dealt with the different aspects of road freight transport. The first session concerned general problems related to the international aspect of the OECD Road Research Programme, as well as the influence of effects of heavy vehicles on the transport policy of the EEC. Legislative measures and the economic order, the environment and regional development are then examined. The second session was devoted to aspects related to infrastructure and session 3 concerned those aspects relating to safety. The fourth session developed the subject of the environment and the fifth examined effects related to design and utilisation of heavy vehicles.
