Abstract

In the quest for synergy at railway station areas three strategies are, aware or unaware, put into practice: accelerate, condense and sweeten (make more pleasant). It appears that railway station areas where these strategies the last eight years are consequently brought into practice (Amersfoort and ’s-Hertogenbosch) perform better than railway stations where these strategies are less or not brought into practice. During the redevelopment of the railway station area of ’s-Hertogenbosch there is consciously co-operated and searched for synergy. This railway station performs better than Amersfoort, the city where there was a thoroughly redevelopment as well. (Author/publisher)
