Abstract

A public transport system consisting of connecting subsystems, each with its specific function, is very suitable for a systematic design method. In this paper such a method is described, based on linking the town and country structure with the subsystem functions. After classifying the town and country structure, four designing stages take place: 1. Location of nodes; 2. Placing of links; 3. Selecting transport technique and route; 4. Designing the time- table structure.
