Abstract

The regional traffic management and information centres for the Greater Munich and Nuremberg area are main parts of the Bavaria Online - Traffic Application Subproject BayernInfo. While the Strategy and Service Centre (SSC) - realized in the Munich COMFORT project - which provides the linked systems with consistent recommendations and control strategies is enlarged to a general information centre, the Nuremberg system (RGN) is being built up just for BayernInfo traffic information purposes. Both systems will serve as a content provider for personal trip assistance and intermodal trip planning features collecting and modelling data from the linked systems like Public Transport Control Centre, P+R computer, Urban Transport Control and Motorway Control Centre. The calculated traffic information is then used by services and by the different public and private organisations in the area. The paper includes a description of the system architecture, key functions and the data flow between the different systems.
