Abstract

This paper provides an overview on how a System Architecture should be used in the process of designing, developing, and implementing effective Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) required for the German national project on mobility in metropolitan areas (MOBINET) implemented in Munich. It also describes the development process for an integrated architecture, and the role an ITS System Architecture can play in the MOBINET project development. The paper discusses the various processes that are undertaken for the setup, and development of a multiple-level system architecture tailored to meet the specific requirements in MOBINET. The paper concludes with recommendations and plans for further work in the MOBINET system architecture development. (A*)
