Abstract

The problem facing planners and legislators is to promote bicycling as an a priori healthy, economic and ecologically sound transportation mode without incurring the proportionate rise in accidents, injury and damage. This paper is a summary of ways being used at the State University of New York at Buffalo to develop effective intervention strategies.
