Abstract

Some characteristics of U.S. technological information systems as they have changed since 1930 are examined and contrasted with health care and personal transportation delivery systems. Analogies are made in regard to system parameters involving the user: definition of the problem, expertise in use of the system, access to the system, alternatives and system response, and charges and system response.
