Abstract

The main objectives of the paper are to present the effect of the introduction of the Monthly Pass in public transport demand, the characteristics of the Monthly Pass demand and an analysis of the users' perception, and the first results of the introduction of a 10-trips ticket for interurban buses. Before addressing these objectives, an introduction to the administrative and technical framework and the institutional structure of public transport in Madrid Metropolitan Area is given together with some general data referring to public transport supply and demand.
