Abstract

This short article describes the TAXITUB service which is designed to meet the transport needs of people living in outlying and/or sparsely populated areas. Users can telephone via MINITEL to make a reservation. TAXITUB has its own network with routes, timetables, and stopping points. Users have to be members of the scheme. Brief details are provided of: a) the general system parameters; b) method of automatic billing; c) cost; and d) clientelle.
