Abstract

TRB’s second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2) Capacity Project C41 has released a prepublication, non-edited version of a report titled TCAPP and Integrated Environmental Framework Pilot Projects: Synthesis of Lessons Learned presents an overview of pilot studies of the Transportation for Communities – Advancing Projects through Partnerships (TCAPP) and the Integrated Environmental Framework (IEF). The report highlights and synthesizes key findings of the research. The TCAPP (http://www.transportationforcommunities.com/) is designed to provide agencies and practitioners with guidance on reaching collaborative decisions as they work through the traditional transportation planning, programming, and permitting processes. TCAPP and its Decision Guide are supported by a series of related research projects that cover topics such as performance measures, greenhouse gas emissions, community visioning, economic impacts, and others including the IEF.
