Abstract

The Child Pedestrian Skills Working Group was set up in response to concerns that the Green Cross Code was inadequate on its own and that more practical guided roadside training was needed. The guidelines suggest approaches at different ages 0-5 years, 5-7 years, 7-11 years, 11-14 years and appendices review practical child pedestrian training programmes used by seven areas in Great Britain, and give an example of risk assessment training.
