Abstract

The article describes and discusses the teaching of traffic safety courses. Todays classroom participants come from employers, insurance companies, driver training schools, driver license bureaus, etc. The course must help the adult learner want to participate in the training. the class should know what is expected of them, and shouldbe told what results to expect from the training. To do this, instructors must be competently trained. Tricks in training such as the use of comedians are deplored. Knowledgeable instructors must take the time to impart safe driving techniques. Many persons attending traffic safety courses have been driving for 10 to 30 years; they need a sharpening of their skills. it is noted that an instructor could make all the difference in the success of safety education courses.
