Abstract

The most important problem of nowadays is environmental control from the various effects of human-made activity. Vehicles also have a noticeable influence on the air, soil and flora pollutions. Traffic noise emission exerts an effect on the health conditions of living near and working people on the highways. Several studies on noise level and its propagation pattern indicate that such parameters are not only intensity- and traffic flux-dependent but also depend on highway and arrangement design solutions. Some investigations of traffic noise emission pattern which were conducted by the Byelorussian State Polytechnic Academy show that the noise propagation is influenced by the elements of the road traffic complex; the ways of shielding of near-highway territories were substantiated.
