Abstract

Two different traffic models, numerical and hardware, are presented. They have been specially developed for searching urban area control techniques. The numerical model is useful for optimising the location of presence traffic detectors and also for testing density measurement algorithms. The hardware model is built up with electronic modules that represent a small length of road, interconnected to simulate any desired traffic network.
