Abstract

Mechanical modifications to engines are effective in reducing individual components of the emissions but usually at the expense of increases in other pollutants. Dual- fuelling is characteristic of techniques which are most likely to provide overall control of emissions namely those in which the engine and the fuel are considered as a single system and are modified consistently.
