Abstract
In ancient times name-plates for streets and route indicators were already used. New with respect to the antiquity are signs which can be changed from a distance. They can be distinguished in: signs, visible with striking light; signs in which the light comes through; traffic signals and matrix signs. Also new is giving auditive information to the driver. It is recommended to normalize these signs international.
