Abstract

The increase of the number of cars in the Netherlands to about 8 million in the year 2000 is the terror when the policy in the Netherlands will not change. All reports, notes and advises show only one direction: slow down the use of the car, improve the use of public transport and remove the bottlenecks in the main road network. The government should interfere before the whole traffic and transport stops into a chaos.
