Abstract

It is the advancement of the navigation system among the nine ITS areas in Japan where a public mobile telecommunications operator can make the most contributions. The amount of information that can be provided by the IMT-2000 communications network will be far more voluminous compared to that of what can be provided by the conventional network. On the other hand, various information technologies are being introduced to car systems, and in this process several local area networks and connections are to be established in the car. This paper attempts to discuss an insight into how the telecommunications system, which is going to become even more advanced in the future, should align itself with the system in the car.
