Abstract

This paper presents the initiatives being taken by The Scottish Office to promote ATT (Advanced Transport Telematics) systems, principally on the Trans-European Road Network, to provide customers with travel and traffic information. It describes some of the institutional arrangements agreed. The systems being promoted by the public sector are also presented. The arrangements being set up to encourage commercial players are presented, and ways to promote public/private sector joint ventures are explained. (A)
