Abstract

There is growing world- wide recognition of teleports as the communication and data acquiring infrastructure for business, industrial, product marketing, financial, technological and public services information. The significance of Teleport Amsterdam is discussed, in particular in its relation to the development of the spatial- economic structure in and around the city. Some of the conclusions that can be drawn as to the influence of teleports as information ports on the physical transport of people and goods, and of information, are addressed.
