Temperature spectra recorded in surfacings on steel bridge decks.

Abstract

The composite action of the surfacing material laid on a steel bridge deck is dependent on temperature and this in consequence is an important factor in relating stresses in the structural deck to the loads applied by vehicles. Temperatures at the mid depth of surfacings at three sites have been recorded.
