Abstract

The growth in the technology of flashing lights has led to mixed use of words to describe the quantities and effects. A consistent series of terms is presented, with a clear difference between the subjective quantities and the objective quantities which may be the actual values or the nominal equivalent values obtained by calculation from some agreed formula.
