Abstract

A program was directed toward evaluation of a new design self-restoring barrier by vehicle crash testing. Seven tests were performed using vehicles ranging from a 953 kg minicompact automobile to a 18.144 kg intercity bus. In all tests the vehicles were succesfully redirected, but barrier modifications were necessary to prevent heavy vehicle rollovers.
