Abstract

This paper focuses on the test method for the performance of traffic information collection and provision using a Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) system in Korea. In Korea, Hi-pass system, which is a Electronic Toll Collection System (ETCS) based DSRC is established throughout nationwide expressway network and currently approximately more than 2.6 millionOn Board Unit (OBU's) were distributed. Under this situation, DSRC Traffic Information System establishment project is being implemented in order to collect traffic information using OBU and to provide the collected traffic information to information providing OBU. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the test method for the performance of the system that is forstable collection of traffic information from Hi-pass OBU and for the provision of accurate information to OBU.
