Abstract

The hybrid vehicle presents a difficult problem when one considers establishing meaningful test procedures for determining performance, energy and fuel consumption, and emission characteristics. This is due tot the continuum of possible ratio's use of the energy stores available for propulsion during the drive mission. This paper reviews the background of hybrids and discusses testing to data of some hybrids. Three propose methods of testing hybrids that have been published or proposed, are examined.
