Abstract

This report describes a vehicle which has been developed at the road research Lab. to study the skid-resisting forces developed by a passenger car tyre during braking, cornering or combined braking and cornering. The results of preliminary tests show that it is particularly suitable for studying the transient conditions through which brake or cornering tyre passes before skidding takes place.
