Abstract

The objective of this testing project was to determine the adequacy of a substantially reduced deck slab reinforcement with respect to 1) the punching shear of the slab under concentrated wheel loads and 2) the distribution of vehicle loads to the girders of the superstructure by the slab acting in transverse bending. The report describes the testing of a composite deck slab supported by a prestressed concrete girder.
